For those looking for something sturdy and more resilient, steel gutters may be the right choice. They are not as cost effective as aluminum, but they are not as expensive as other materials. They are rust and dent resistant and are often used where many trees drop debris. The are a popular choice when creating custom seamless guttering. One should be aware that the protective coating on galvanized steel will wear off over time and should be maintained properly.  They are also a heavier metal, and more costly to install.

As with copper, stainless gutters carry a high price tag. They are most suitable for coastal areas as they are resistant to rust. Because they are steel, they are stronger and more customizable that either aluminum or vinyl. They carry a higher installation cost and are quite heavy, but they are a beautiful choice for longevity and durability.
